YouTuber Ava Kris Tyson has shared a statement following allegations of grooming online.
Tyson had regularly made appearances on the YouTube channel of MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, however she has since decided to ‘step away’ from the channel following allegations of inappropriate contact, including an exchange which is claimed to have occurred when she was 20 and the alleged victim was 13.
Since the allegations have come to light, Donaldson has posted a statement saying that Tyson had been removed from the channel and any association with with the MrBeast brand with ‘immediate’ effect, pending a ‘comprehensive investigation’ from an independent third party.
Meanwhile, Tyson has taken to social media to deny the allegations entirely

“I would like to apologise for any of my past behaviour or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent,” she said.
“Seeing recent events we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health.
“I want to add, I never groomed anyone. The person who gets brought up in these accusations has vocally supported that they are false.”
She continued: “Having said that, I humbly apologise to anyone I have hurt with my unacceptable social media posts, past actions, and to those who may feel betrayed by how I used to act online.
“To lump these two factors together to create a narrative that my behaviour extended beyond bad edgy jokes is disgusting and did not happen. In past years, I have learned that my old humour is not acceptable. I cannot change who I was, but I can continue to work on myself.

The alleged victim has also come forward on social media to deny the allegations, stating that while Tyson had ‘made a few edgy jokes’ on a discord server they were running together, they were never ‘exploited or taken advantage of’.
“These videos are massive lies and twisting the truth. Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes. I was never exploited or taken advantage of,” they said.
Last year Ava announced she had separated from her wife and had started hormone replacement therapy, later in the year she updated her pronouns to she/her and updated her name.

Donaldson has spoken out to say that he is aware of the allegations against Tyson, and has hired third party investigators to look into the matter while deciding to ‘remove Ava from the company’ and end their association.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson’s behavior online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.
“During that time, I have been focused on hiring an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure I have all the facts.
“That said, I’ve seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast. I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions.
“I will allow the independent investigators the necessary time to conduct a comprehensive investigation and will take any further actions based on their findings.”
